Bypassing Vault: Gmail & Hangouts

Do you know what Vault isn’t storing from Gmail? Yes, we’ve covered confidential emails in a previous article, but we aren’t talking about those, we are referring to everyday emails that are sent and received…. and not caputured in Vault.

In this vlog, Tom identifies content that Vault is not retaining from Gmail and gives insights on where in the Admin Console you can find the settings to ensure everything is being properly stored. Likewise, Tom also covers the upcoming transition from Classic Hangouts, originally stored in Gmail, to the new Hangouts Chat Service and how to ensure you don’t experience any data loss when the transition takes place next June.

Every setting in the Admin Console can have large and critical implications if they are not properly configured.

To learn more about your setting configurations or if you have not had your G Suite domain environment audited for EDU best-practices, download ‘Top Google for Education Domain Configuration Errors’. It highlights the settings that are most commonly missed or are improperly set by many of the schools whose Google environments we have Audited.
